Guidelines for successful interactive presentations.

Follow these brief instructions for a successful interactive presentation.

Technical side (creating presentations with Powerpoint 2007)

• Presentation time 15 to 30 minutes.
• Font size 32 to 44.
• Use bullets for sentences.
• Each slide can contain up to 44 words a picture and last a minute.
• Same background to all slides.
• For dark background colors use bright colors font that is not type-serif.
• Add audio, images and animation.
• Make your presentation interactive by adding a menu and quiz.

A non-technical side (presentation)

• The duration of the presentation is less than the time display.
• Contact with the audience (questions, humor).
• Simple, short, representing such.
• No read the text of the slides.
• We do not talk like we know everything.
• Use utilities like zoomit to focus on important points of the presentation.

If you want a freeware software package for your interactive whiteboard then try the ActivInspire (Windows, Mac and Linux). ActivInspire created for use in classrooms worldwide. It is available in two versions, Personal and Professional.

Personal Edition is available for all, free of charge, include browsers that can easily move between pages, actions and objects, quick lesson building using themed flipchart templates.

The Professional Edition contains a range of extended features including a shapes library and screen recorder, sound recorder and handwriting recognition. Try it with the Wiigo software package of Gdo Multimedia.

Cheap interactive whiteboard.

A very cheap solution(about 50$) to transform your flat screen display(projected screen or flat panel) into an interactive whiteboard, an idea by Johnny Chung Lee.

Requirements

- A computer with a bluetooth adapter(most laptops have built-in bluetooth chipsets), or buy one(about 15$).

- An infrared pen. You can build the pen yourself or get a pre-made one.

- A Nintendo WII Remote Controller(about 35$).

- A flat surface display (projected screen or flat panel).

- Windows operating system.

- Smoothboard program.
