There are network printers connected directly to a network and printers associated with a USB / serial port to a computer in the network. We will deal with the second case, because the network printers are more expensive, the disadvantage is that the computer to be connected, must be open to print. The following instructions apply to Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
To share a printer choose Start-> Control Panel-> Printers and Faxes or Devices and Printers, right click the printer you want to share, Sharing -> Share this printer or Printer Properties->Sharing and in the Share name put the name of the printer.
A prerequisite is all our network computers must be in the same workgroup. My computer-> right click-> Properties-> Computer name, press Change, and define the name of your workgroup eg. HOME.
Good luck.
