A study by the University of Utah, notes that most monitors increase productivity.
Measured the time for processing a document, and copying numbers between spreadsheets using different computer configurations.
Result: They users used 24-inch screen completed the tasks 52% faster than the other using 18-inch screen, the users used two 20-inch monitors were 44% faster than with 18-inch screen. There is an upper limit, however: Productivity dropped when using 26-inch screen.
The study concluded that those who use more screen could reduce working time 2.5 hours per day, assuming that it works continuously for eight hours.
